Bio

Jesse Soursourian is an Armenian-American (MENA/SWANA) writer and director based in New York City. He co-directed the documentary film MOTHERLAND, about the women de-miners of Nagorno-Karabakh, which has screened at over a dozen festivals around the world including the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival, the Camden International Film Festival, and many others.

As a screenwriter, he wrote the script for the short film Hugh the Hunter, directed by Oscar nominee Zachary Heinzerling, and which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. His feature screenplay about the Armenian civil rights attorney, Charles Garry, was accepted into the 2nd round of the Austin Screenwriting Contest at the Austin Film Festival.

Jesse has an MFA in Screenwriting from Columbia University.
